1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Home Helper, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users, including home owners, house cleaners, and gardeners.
2. Platform Role
Home Helper is a marketplace platform that connects home owners with domestic workers. We do not employ any workers listed on the platform, and we are not a party to any agreement made between users. All arrangements are between the users themselves.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your profile.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
- You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid agreements made through it.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute platform content without permission.
5. Agreements & Contracts
When both parties agree to terms through the platform's agreement system, a digital contract PDF is generated as a record. This document is intended as a reference for the agreed terms. Home Helper does not guarantee the legal enforceability of these contracts and recommends users seek legal advice for formal employment arrangements.
6. Payments
Home Helper does not process or handle payments between users. All financial arrangements, including daily rates, are agreed upon directly between the home owner and the worker. Users are responsible for complying with applicable South African tax and labour laws.
7. Limitation of Liability
Home Helper is provided "as is". We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, interactions with other users, or any agreements made through the platform. We do not verify the credentials, qualifications, or background of any user.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of significant changes where possible.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the use of this platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
10. Contact
For any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please reach out through the platform's messaging system.
